Mass production of IVBB in full swing

Updated: 2021-05-12

National Automobile Intelligent Control, Yutong Bus and BYD Automobile, three companies in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA), recently held kick-off meetings for a mass production and joint development project.

The cooperation indicates that mass production, delivery and commercialization of products from National Automobile Intelligent Control and a main engine factory have been launched based on NAIC’s Intelligent Vehicle Basic Brain (IVBB) 1.0 computing platform product released this year.

In autonomous driving research and development, auto companies are facing challenges in autonomous driving R&D such as how to achieve efficient and independent development of software, heterogeneous and flexible hardware distribution, and real-time collaboration between vehicles and clouds.

IVBB provides solutions for such difficulties. Its smart networked car operating system, smart car domain controller and Cheluyun collaboration basic software can realize rapid application development and have platform-based, network-connected, expandable and car regulation characteristics, which can improve efficiency and reduce costs on the basis of meeting the differentiated development needs of auto companies.

IVBB1.0 has been released in three intelligent vehicle domain controller (ICVHW) formats. Its intelligent networked vehicle operating system (ICVOS) adopts a hierarchical decoupling and modular design architecture, including system software and functional software.

It realizes ICVOS and hardware decoupling in the lower layer, supports different chips and hardware platforms and computing power expansion, and can be widely adapted to industry mainstream and domestic independent chips.

The basic brain realizes ICVOS and application decoupling at the upper layer, and provides component-based development based on a data flow engine and a pluggable algorithm engine. It supports customized development of over 40 autonomous driving functions and specific scenarios.

The BDA will continue to advance the development of the intelligent networked automobile industry with a focus on developing such key generic technologies as driving environment integration perception, decision-making and control of intelligent networked automobiles to boost the industry's development.
