AI logistics innovation center set up in BDA

Updated: 2021-05-19

On May 14, a new generation of artificial intelligence logistics innovation center initiated by Beijing TrunkTech Co. Ltd. in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) and the Intelligent Driving Special Committee of the China Artificial Intelligence Society were established in the BDA.

Relying on the BDA's policy environment and infrastructure in the field of intelligent networked vehicles, and the exploration of autonomous driving tracks in the logistics field by TrunkTech, the innovation center will gather the core strengths of China's system of "government, industry, study and research" in the field of AI and logistics to promote the coordinated development of AI, autonomous driving and logistics, commercial vehicles, transportation energy, 5G vehicle-road collaboration and other industries.

TrunkTech has been focusing on enabling logistics freight trucks to achieve autonomous driving. Since settling in the BDA, it has established the world's largest port autonomous driving fleet, with a total operating mileage of over 450,000 kilometers and an operating time of more than 150,000 hours.

The company now plans to build a self-driving intelligent logistics network based on the national expressway network, so that self-driving logistics freight vehicles can be used logistically on that national network.

Meanwhile, the policy environment, industrial environment and infrastructure of the intelligent networked automobile industry in the BDA have been continuously upgraded. For autonomous driving companies, especially those in unmanned logistics and smart logistics, it provides an application environment covering multiple scenarios such as high-speed and urban expressways.

At the inauguration ceremony of the innovation center, the Intelligent Driving Committee of the Chinese Society of Artificial Intelligence, Tsinghua University, Chang'an University, the China Automobile Center, JD Logistics, GLP, Weichai Intelligent, the China Mobile Shanghai Research Institute and other institutions became the first members.
