To create a festive and peaceful atmosphere for the Spring Festival holiday and welcome the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Urban Operation Bureau of the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) recently started its Spring Festival landscape layout. 

Differing from previous years, there will be more exhibition points and some of the landscape layouts will be closely integrated with the Beijing Winter Olympics, incorporating Winter Olympics elements such as mascots, ice and snow.

According to a bureau staff member, the Spring Festival landscape layout radiates through 60 square kilometers of the BDA.

The landscape is dominated by the color red and tens of thousands of lanterns and lighting create a splendid urban environment and Spring Festival atmosphere.

Among them, the South Square area of Boda Park has the theme "Helping the Winter Olympics and Welcoming the New Year". Seven Winter Olympic sports and six Winter Paralympic sports with Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon as the prototypes have been chosen for lantern landscapes.
