By the end of March, the BDA had about 300 autonomous vehicles of various types carrying out tests and commercial services on a regular basis, and a total of 147 passenger license plates were issued.

The area also issued 86 self-driving vehicle codes and four truck number plates, and the accumulated test mileage of its vehicles exceeded 4 million kilometers. The demonstration zone has opened a pilot program for the commercialization of autonomous driving travel services, with a total of more than 80,000 people served.

"The data is of great significance to our autonomous driving enterprises," said Wang Chao, president of the Truck.tech research institute.

According to Wang, artificial intelligence is basically trained by data. The more uncertainties and complex scenarios that are encountered on the road, the more intelligent the artificial intelligence algorithm will be.

With the support of the BDA's policies, a Truck.tech truck obtained a test license and drove on the Beijing-Taiwan Expressway. Two vehicles accompanied the truck to ensure safety.

In just over four months, the truck's test mileage has exceeded 5,000 kilometers, and all accompanying vehicles have been removed.

Within half a year of start of manned test and demonstration operation in the BDA, the number of vehicles, site density and order density of the Luobokuaipao app increased by more than 50 percent, and the average daily orders for single bikes reached 28.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the number of passenger orders for Luobokuaipao reached 213,000, nearly doubling from the previous quarter. In the third and fourth quarters, it received more than 300,000 orders. This figure is still growing rapidly in 2022.
