New Year decorations in Beijing-E-Town appear one after another

Updated: 2023-01-18

Red lanterns are hung high, and the streets are decorated with splendid lighting. As Spring Festival draws near, Beijing E-Town will embrace the new year with a brand new appearance.

When citizens passed by BDA West Plaza and Ronghua Road South Ring Island on Jan 10, they could see the decorations being installed.

On the East Square of the BDA, a large ship is setting sail on the wind and waves. Dolphins are leaping from the waves and the ship is fully loaded with landmark buildings and important elements, such as satellites and spaceships, in Beijing E-Town.

Nearby you'll find a bright moon and a jade rabbit basking in the "moonlight", which reflects the ship in the distance. The collision of tradition and modernity creates a unique charm.

On the West Square of the BDA, across the road from the ship, a large-scale lantern group reflects the theme of the 30-year construction of Beijing E-Town.

In Dazu Plaza and on the South Ring Island of Ronghua Road, the atmosphere of the Year of the Rabbit is more prominent. A giant candy-colored rabbit wearing a space suit is holding a planet in its hand and riding a spaceship towards the earth.
