At the beginning of 2023, a number of new and continued projects in Beijing E-Town have been promoted one after another, marking a good start to the New Year.

This year, the total project investment in Beijing E-Town is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan ($14.65 billion).

The total investment of 100 billion yuan involves 202 projects, with industrial investment accounting for more than 50 percent.

Among them, the four leading industries accounted for about 45 percent: new-generation information technology accounted for 32 percent, new energy vehicles and intelligent networked vehicles accounted for 6 percent, biotechnology and general health accounted for 6 percent, and robots and intelligent manufacturing accounted for 1 percent.

Beijing High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone 3.0 is a key investment project of Beijing E-Town.

This year, the demonstration area will continue to expand with Beijing E-Town at its center.

As a model for the first trial in the demonstration area, Beijing E-Town will, on the current basis, continue to improve the construction of its roadside intelligent infrastructure within 60 square kilometers of the core area, and build a vehicle-road cloud network map operation system.

The Beijing Southeast Expressway Smart Logistics Port Project (Phase I) is also one of the key projects promoted by Beijing E-Town this year, the total investment of which is about 1.7 billion yuan.

The project has a land area of about 8.63 hectares and a construction area of about 170,900 square meters. Construction officially started on Sept 23, 2022. Currently, the first phase of the project is advancing and is expected to be completed in September 2024.

Upon completion, the total storage capacity of the project will be about 100,000 tons, which will greatly improve the capital's logistics service capabilities and solve the industry's pain points, according to sources.
