Beijing E-Town builds green innovation center

Updated: 2023-03-15

The latest achievement report of Beijing E-Town's "dual carbon" work is out: In 2022, the green development fund will cash in 35.5 million yuan (5.15 million).

Since 2022, 39 registered photovoltaic projects have been added, including seven new ones since 2023.

Progress on the construction of a green, smart, and low-carbon demonstration park of Beijing BOE Energy Technology in Beijing E-Town has reached 90 percent. It is expected to be completed this April.

"The project uses efficient ground source heat pump units, air source heat pumps, replaces traditional gas boilers and chillers, adds 0.45 MW of photovoltaic power generation and 0.1 MW of energy storage. By using decarbonization and managing carbon digitally, rapid and safe carbon reduction can be achieved. It will also result in energy savings, as well as emission and cost reductions. After the project is completed, BOE Energy will continue to be responsible for energy supply, management, and equipment operation and maintenance in the park," said the head of BOE Energy.

The new photovoltaic power generation in the green, smart, and low-carbon demonstration park is just a microcosm of Beijing E-Town's promotion of the use of new energy.

In 2022, Beijing E-Town accelerated the promotion of photovoltaic projects, with 32 newly registered photovoltaic projects throughout the year, totaling 21 MW installed capacity.

It is estimated that the annual power generation after grid connection in the second year can reach 20 million kWh, and the annual carbon dioxide emission reduction is over 12,000 tons. The photovoltaic project application for municipal subsidies was completed, with a total installed capacity of 11 MW, annual power generation of over 10 million kWh, and annual carbon dioxide emission reduction of over 6,000 tons.

Since being included in the national pilot project for whole-area photovoltaics in 2021, Beijing E-Town has provided incentives for distributed photovoltaic projects through the green development fund policy, attracting new energy projects to settle in Beijing E-Town and accelerating their progress.

In 2022 alone, Beijing E-Town area completed the review and monetization of incentive funds for 99 projects in the energy-saving and emission reduction field under the green development fund policy. It supported funds of 35.5218 million yuan and achieved a carbon dioxide emission reduction of over 60,000 tons.
