The Beijing International Audiovisual Conference 2024 opened on Dec 12 in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town).

Nearly 400 industry-renowned experts, scholars, executives from domestic and foreign audiovisual institutions, and companies attended the conference.

The conference presented the inaugural Beijing Grand Audio-Visual Assemblage "Beijing White Jade" Talent Special Selection. Seventeen distinguished, leading, and young talents were selected. As the first talent brand in the Beijing radio, television, and online audiovisual industry, the “Beijing White Jade” Talent Special Selection is an important component in the construction of the Beijing audiovisual system, serving as a crucial platform for uniting, discovering, nurturing, and connecting high-level talents in the industry.

The third China-Russia Short Video Contest was also launched during the event, aiming to collect multilingual and diverse Chinese-Russian themed short videos in languages such as Chinese, Russian, and English, to explore the developmental and historical cultural aspects of the two countries.

The results of the first China Innovation Imaging Competition were announced, showcasing the winning short films that allow the world experience the advancing power of Chinese innovative imagery.

Additionally, the documentary Spacetime Capsule: Discover the Chinese Science that is Re-writing the Future was released on-site to spread awareness about the significant contributions of Chinese science and technology to human societal progress, conveying China's open, inclusive, mutually beneficial, and shared concept of technological cooperation.

The Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau and the Beijing Film Academy signed a strategic cooperation agreement during the conference. Both sides will engage in comprehensive exchanges and collaborations in areas such as cultivating film and television talents, promoting industry development, creating high-quality audiovisual works, and sharing advantageous resources. This partnership aims to jointly promote the high-quality development of the capital's broadcasting, television, and online audiovisual industry.

Domestic and foreign guests discussed key topics such as the high-quality development of broadcasting and television, international communication, film and television education, and the application and transformation of artificial intelligence.

As the host of the conference, Beijing E-Town has been vigorously promoting the prosperity and development of the cultural industry. Efforts have been made to achieve the transformation and innovative development of excellent cultural creativity through the empowerment of technology. Currently, the area has established a high-level cultural industry system, including the integration of science and technology with culture, such as high-tech audiovisual industries.

Going forward, Beijing E-Town will continue to increase its support for the innovative cultural sector, fostering a new wave of science and technology integrated cultural formats and standards. This effort aims to cultivate and strengthen new productive forces in culture for the capital and contribute to the sustainable development of high-quality audiovisual industries, leveraging the strength of E-Town.
