Beijing E-Town's aerospace industry blooms

The second Beijing Commercial Aerospace Industry High-Quality Development Conference was held in the city's Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Feb 12 to showcase the internationalization, agglomeration and specialization of "E-Town aerospace" in space exploration.

During the event, the responsible person of Beijing E-Town listed the zone's achievements relating to the aerospace industry.

In 2024, the scale of E-Town's aerospace industry exceeded 35 billion yuan ($4.82 billion). The "E-Town arrows" successfully launched 13 times, with over 80 satellites placed in orbit. The practices of launching multiple satellites with one rocket, conducting sea and land launches simultaneously, and coordinating satellites and rockets have become the norm in Beijing E-Town.

Over the past year, Beijing E-Town has been vigorously constructing a top-notch industrial innovation ecosystem, taking various measures to support and serve the development of the aerospace industry. This includes building the Beijing rocket street commercial aerospace commonality research and production base, planning and constructing a 165-hectare aerospace area, establishing the Beijing reusable rocket technology innovation center, and the Zhongguancun E-Town Commercial Aerospace Alliance. Significant efforts have also been made to mobilize funds to support the development of the commercial aerospace industry.

At the conference, Beijing E-Town enterprises such as Galactic Energy and Landspace, along with partners from Germany, Malaysia, and Singapore, signed cooperation agreements, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the "E-Town aerospace" 2025 international expansion plan.

"In the new year, we will actively participate in global aerospace industry cooperation, expand commercial aerospace cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, and focus on building the 'Space Silk Road'", said the official from the Beijing E-Town.
