E-Town accelerates the construction of Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center
Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) is cultivating new momentum for high-end industries, accelerating the transformation of scientific research achievements into practical applications and enhancing the quality of the innovation ecosystem to contribute to the construction of Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center.
The high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone in Beijing, with the Beijing E-Town as its core, is accelerating towards new heights. The demonstration zone now covers an area of 600 square kilometers across the city. It has issued road test licenses to 34 testing vehicle companies and over 900 vehicles, with autonomous driving test mileage exceeding 35 million kilometers.
Beijing E-Town has established an unimpeded "highway" for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Since 2017, the area has constructed a large number of incubation carriers conducive to cutting-edge technological innovation and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. This includes 13 national-level technology enterprise incubators, 15 municipal-level incubators, and 9 district-level incubators.
In addition, on this fertile ground for innovation, Beijing E-Town continues to improve its gradient cultivation system for innovative enterprises, nurturing a vibrant community of innovative businesses. Beijing E-Town has cultivated 1,084 small and medium-sized enterprises specializing in Beijing's key industries, including 155 national-level "little giant" enterprises, ranking at the forefront of national economic development zones. The area is also home to 2,374 national high-tech enterprises, 1,058 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in Beijing, and 19 unicorn enterprises.
With the support of policies and the empowerment of the innovation ecosystem, Beijing E-Town is advancing towards the integration of scientific and industrial innovation and accelerating the construction of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center, aiming to propel towards becoming a global innovation hub at full speed.
