Medtronic decides to set up the first digital medical innovation base in China.

The unveiling ceremony of Medtronic's digital medical innovation base was held on Monday at BioPark, in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town).

This is Medtronic's first digital medical innovation base in China and marks the beginning of a new chapter in its development in the capital.

"Having deeply rooted in China for 36 years, Medtronic has always been driven by innovation and resonated with the healthcare industry in China. The completion of the digital medical innovation base in Beijing signifies a new stage in our full value chain layout in the country. We hope to leverage Beijing's leading medical resources and innovation momentum, collaborate with partners to create a patient-centric digital medical innovation model. Through solutions such as remote management and intelligent follow-up, we aim to alleviate the burden on hospitals, enhance service efficiency and improve the experience of managing chronic diseases for patients," said Geoff Martha, chairman and CEO of Medtronic.

The is the first digital medical innovation base established by Medtronic in China, dedicated to developing disease management solutions based on artificial intelligence and big data. It will focus on cardiovascular conditions, minimally invasive surgery, neuroscience and other fields to establish medical training centers; set up patient care centers, introduce digital technology to enhance the level of patient prevention management services and also build the Medtronic Museum.

The innovation base is scheduled to officially open by the end of this year.
