Beijing E-Town to upgrade support policies for foreign enterprises
The first session of the Council of the Foreign Investment Enterprises Branch of the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) Enterprise Association and the Beijing E-Town Foreign Enterprise Roundtable Conference were recently held in the region.
A number of foreign enterprises based in Beijing E-Town, including Bayer Pharmaceuticals, GE Healthcare, and United Fuel Cell, as well as representatives from several financial institutions, gathered to discuss how to further enhance the development of foreign investment enterprises in the area and promote regional foreign investment and foreign trade.
During the conference, enterprises shared information on resource support, plans for capital increase and expansion this year, and necessary support. Most companies said they will accelerate their landing of innovative products, further enhance production capacity to better adapt to market changes and meet customer needs based on Beijing E-Town’s resources. They are also actively seeking opportunities for cooperation with local companies and financial institutions to expand business areas and partnerships.
Dong Qiaoling, deputy director of the Bayer Pharmaceuticals Platform, said, "Bayer will adhere to the development strategy of being based in Beijing and serving China, accelerating the landing of innovative drugs and medical devices in Beijing. Two innovative drugs have already been put into production in Beijing E-Town this year, and another innovative medical device is planned to be landed by the first quarter of next year."
Dong Yifei, the government affairs director at GE Healthcare's Beijing base, said the company will continue to promote the localization of products, nurture more professional technical talents to promote technological innovation and product upgrades. She added that GE Healthcare is actively advancing the patent modification process and will soon launch 103 core product technology patents in Beijing E-Town. This unprecedented move demonstrates GE Healthcare's confidence and determination to be rooted in E-Town.
Representatives from various enterprises and financial institutions also discussed how to better utilize policy dividends, optimize the business operating environment, strengthen cooperation among enterprises, and enhance the level of financial services.
This year, Beijing E-Town will further upgrade its support policies for foreign investment and foreign trade, increase support for project attraction, enterprises going global, and reinvestment by foreign enterprises in China. It will encourage foreign equity investment in the region and promote sustainable regional economic development by facilitating internal circulation among enterprises within the area and stabilizing external increments.
