'One device, one policy' approval empowers deployment of intelligent beverage robots

Updated: 2025-05-14

During the recent May Day holiday, several companies in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) introduced intelligent robots, creating a new scene for beverage consumption with the concept of "buy and enjoy immediately, full of technological appeal".

The unmanned beverage station developed by Beijing Industrial Technology Research Institute has been used at popular attractions such as the Prince Gong's Mansion and Beijing Zoo, leveraging cutting-edge intelligent retail technology and the advantage of time-honored formulas. Meanwhile, the XBOT coffee machine developed by inSpace has been deployed in Beijing, Shenzhen, Guilin and other locations, with daily sales per machine exceeding 260 cups.

Behind these achievements is the efficient approval service provided by Beijing E-Town.

Not long ago, Beijing Industrial Technology Research Institute independently developed an unmanned beverage station vending robot, which is about to enter the commercialization phase. However, the current policies governing the approval of new business operation permits were relatively broad, lacking clear and detailed regulations. Food safety involves numerous details, high risks and relatively challenging regulatory oversight. The company faced a series of challenges.

In addressing the practical challenges for the company, Beijing E-Town innovatively introduced a "one device, one policy" mechanism, providing it with tailored approval services, effectively resolving the challenges emerging during the certification process, and ultimately assisting it in smoothly obtaining a food operation permit to utilize automatic equipment for beverage production and sales.

The timely acquisition of a food operation permit has also allowed inSpace to achieve remarkable success. During the May Day holiday, it set up over 120 operational points, with 32 machines stationed in cultural and tourism attractions serving over 50,000 visitors. The total sales exceeded 760,000 yuan ($105,662.04).

Beijing E-Town will continue to leverage its strengths to provide high-quality and efficient approval services to more companies, helping businesses explore additional innovative scenarios and driving high-quality development in the regional economy.
