German delegation visits the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area on July 1.

Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of the State of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, led a delegation to visit and conduct research in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on July 1. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as digital economy, future mobility, robotics, and artificial intelligence, and expressed unanimous agreement to deepen resource integration, promote practical cooperation, and achieve tangible results.

Baden-Württemberg is a powerhouse of the German economy, ranking at the forefront in high-tech industries, research and development in all of Europe. The state not only hosts global automotive giants like Daimler and Porsche and a highly concentrated supporting industry but also possesses significant advantages in the fields of robotics automation and digital transformation.

Beijing, as the national center for scientific and technological innovation, has always adhered to innovation-driven development and digital empowerment. There is a high degree of complementarity in industrial structure with the State of Baden-Württemberg, providing vast opportunities for cooperation.

Meanwhile, Beijing E-Town is the only national-level economic and technological development zone in the capital. It gathers over 100,000 market entities from 62 countries and regions worldwide. Among them, 105 Fortune 500 companies have invested in 160 projects, and 59 German-funded enterprises contributed nearly $30 billion in output value in 2024. Leading companies like Mercedes-Benz, Bayer, and Bosch have deeply integrated into the industrial ecosystem of Beijing E-Town.

Beijing E-Town and the State of Baden-Württemberg have vast cooperation opportunities in fields such as robotics, biomedicine, automotive, and artificial intelligence. It warmly welcomes international delegations to visit and have exchanges frequently, jointly promote innovative collaboration, deepen industrial integration, and work together to create a new chapter in Sino-German cooperation.

The delegation also visited the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center and the Beijing Robot World Exhibition Hall, where they gained a detailed understanding of Beijing and E-Town's cutting-edge exploration and innovative achievements in robotics innovation research and development, as well as application scenarios.

The delegation expressed their strong eagerness to establish a long-term, mutually trusting strategic partnership with Beijing E-Town, opening up a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation.
