CIIE witnesses new heights in 'E-Town intelligent manufacturing'

The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10. This internationally acclaimed event saw participation from 155 countries, regions, and international organizations, and featured 4,108 overseas exhibitors, both of which set new records.

Among them, more than ten companies with a presence in Beijing E-Town, including GE Healthcare, Varian, AstraZeneca, Schneider Electric, ABB, and TPV Technology, showcased at the expo. They presented globally debuting and innovative products, highlighting the global competitiveness of new products, technologies, and services from Beijing E-Town.

GE Healthcare used the expo as a global launch platform for high-end medical equipment such as CT scanners and surgical robots, unveiling 18 innovative products, 9 of which made their global debut, with a record-high proportion developed in China. Among the global debuts were the Expert X Quantum CT and the ORIDEX Spine surgical robot, both developed and manufactured at GE Healthcare's Beijing imaging equipment manufacturing base in E-Town.

At Varian's booth, it showcased its globally debuting "SmART" intelligent adaptive radiotherapy solution. The Halcyon linear accelerator, which features this solution, is produced at their E-Town factory.

At AstraZeneca's booth, a series of curved display walls showcased significant achievements, ranging from the China debut of two innovative oncology drugs and several new therapies for expanded disease areas to the latest developments in research collaborations. Previously, AstraZeneca launched its sixth global strategic R&D center at Beijing E-Town's BioPark, marking its second global strategic R&D center in China after Shanghai.

As the world's largest computer monitor manufacturer, TPV Technology has created a visual feast integrating AI technology through scenario-based design on site of the CIIE. Currently, the subsidiary of TPV Technology located in Beijing E-Town is focusing on five major industry application scenarios: smart office, smart healthcare, smart education, smart transportation, and smart retail. The company is accelerating the construction of digital factories and continuously increasing efforts in market expansion and research and development in the smart commercial display sector.

As a leader in energy technology, Schneider Electric showcased its advanced achievements and innovative practices in digital intelligence technology, ecosystem collaboration, and industrial applications during the expo. Focusing on the AI+ field, Schneider Electric's EAE platform is operational at the Schneider Electric Beijing Logistics Center in E-Town, aiding in industrial transformation and quality and efficiency improvements. This year, Schneider Electric's China Technology Localization Innovation Center was also inaugurated in Beijing E-Town, providing deep compatibility services for domestic software and hardware to better meet the rapid development needs of China's digital economy.

Today, Beijing E-Town is home to over 100,000 businesses, including more than 1,530 foreign-funded enterprises. These foreign companies are shifting their focus from being "in China" to "for China" and even "for the world."
