The 2021 World 5G Conference kicked off at the Etrong International Convention and Exhibition Center in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area. It will run from Aug 31 to Sept 1.

Titled "5G Deep Cultivation, Integrity and Symbiosis", this meeting includes an opening ceremony, a main forum and 11 themed forums.

More than a hundred experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from all over the world gathered online and off to discuss the future development of 5G based around key concepts such as "industry", "economy" and "innovation".

Nearly 20 domestic and foreign academics and experts, including Wu Hequan, Zhang Boli and Pan Jianwei, will speak at the conference.

Domestic heavyweights like the three major telecom operators, as well as internationally renowned companies such as Qualcomm and Nokia Bell Labs, will appear at the conference as participants or exhibitors.

Guests explained how 5G can provide support for digital transformation, intelligent upgrading and integration in various areas of economics and society at the opening ceremony, .

Then, at the main forum hosted by Wu Hequan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Martin Hirzel, chairman of Swissmem, and Xu Lei, CEO of JD Retail shared their insights into the 5G-empowered industries.

The 11 theme forums will outline full-scale implementation of 5G in the consumer market and industry sectors, focusing on in-depth collaboration between vertical industries and the communications industry.

Exhibitions held at the same time as the conference present progress and innovation in the entire 5G industry chain, and outstanding examples of 5G implementation in various industries.

In the 20,000-square-meter exhibition area, visitors can not only see typical 5G applications, but also immerse themselves in the extraordinary new world created by 5G.

The exhibition brings together China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Tower and China Radio and Television, as well as heavyweight companies such as Huawei, ZTE, China Xinke, JD.com, BOE and QI-ANXIN.

It will showcase 5G applications in smart buildings, smart cities, intelligent factories, smart steel, intelligent grid, smart inspection, culture, entertainment and the Internet of Vehicles.
