The predecessor of Wufutang Park was an industrial compound where small clothing companies were set up.

It is located on Nanxiao Street of Jiugong township (formerly known as Wufutang village).

At the end of the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912), the Xue, Cai, Xie, Li and Zhang families settled here and turned the place into a village named Wufutang, which means luck and longevity.

The park has a total area of about 320 acres (21.33 hectares) and is located on the central axis of Beijing.

Currently, Wufutang Park has set up seven characteristic areas, including the central axis boulevard, memorial forest of President Xi's voluntary tree planting, peony garden, and plum garden.

The park is planted with over one hundred flowers and grasses, including ginkgo trees, cherry trees, red maple, chrysanthemum, canna, lycoris radiata and mock strawberries.

Residents of all ages can enjoy themselves in this park. There are playground facilities, a water system landscape, corridors, 1,600-meter-long plastic trails, and entertainment and fitness equipment.

In addition, Wufutang Park also has a near-natural ecological environment, emphasizing biodiversity and creating a sound biological habitat environment and plant ecological landscape.
