BDA steps up development of integration of science and cultural industry

Updated: 2021-11-29

From January to September 2021, the income of enterprises in the science and cultural industry above designated size in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) exceeded 40 billion yuan ($6.26 billion), an increase of nearly 10 billion yuan over the same period last year, and a growth rate of 31.2 percent.

According to calculations, the average income of enterprises above designated size in that industry in the BDA reached 647 million yuan, about three times the city's average.

Last December, focusing on the high-tech audiovisual industry, gaming, and e-sports, the BDA issued a "BDA Game Industry Policy" and a "BDA Audiovisual Industry Policy".

The BDA has built four major industrial parks: the China (Beijing) High-tech Audiovisual Industrial Park, the Beijing Online Game New Technology Application Center, the Beijing Smart E-sports Event Center and the Beijing Smart Media Digital Industry Innovation Center. Together they provide such services as full-process technological supervision of 5G cloud game publishing, green approval channels for game version numbers, copyright protection and trading.

The BDA not only provides "butler-style" services for new enterprises entering the area, but also provides upgraded assistance for existing enterprises.

Since the beginning of this year, the BDA has introduced more than 50 projects related to the integration of the science and technology industries, covering 5G + 8K high-tech audiovisual, E-sports events, game R&D operations, the digital economy, technology services, and other integrated segments of the scientific and cultural industry.
