Highlights of 2021 ICV Test & Pilot Symposium

The 2021 ICV Test & Pilot Symposium (ICVTP 2021) opened with a live broadcast on Dec 13.

The first ICVTP forum was co-sponsored by the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Innovation Center, the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering, and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Administrative Committee. 

It included one plenary session and six theme sub-forums. 

More than 70 senior experts, scholars, corporate executives and technology leaders from Europe, Japan, Singapore and other countries and regions gathered together to discuss innovative practices concerning rules, regulations, technical standards, test evaluations, demonstration applications, and safety assurance.

Kong Lei, deputy director of the BDA Administrative Committee, delivered a theme report titled "Beijing’s High-level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone and the Construction Achievements and Experiences of the Policy Pilot Zone".

Takai Seiji, director of the International Policy Planning Department of the Road Transportation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, shared the report "Exploration and Practice of Japan's L3 Autonomous Driving Type Certification".

Jan Hellåker, chairman of Drive Sweden, a Swedish autonomous driving innovation platform, shared the report "Drive Sweden-- Automated Driving Innovation Platform".

On behalf of the compilation team, Gong Weijie, secretary-general of the China Intelligent Connected Automobile Industry Innovation Alliance, officially released the Guidelines for the Standard System Construction of the Intelligent Connected Automobile Group (2021).

The Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering (CSAE) and the 5G Automotive Alliance (5GAA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the plenary session through video connection. 

CSAE Deputy Secretary-General, China Intelligent Connected Automotive Industry Innovation Alliance (CAICV) Secretary General Gong Weijie, 5GAA Director General Johannes Springer, and Secretary General Markus Dillinger attended the signing ceremony on behalf of both parties. 

Through the signing of the MOU, the two parties will further strengthen strategic cooperation, establish partnerships, and share technical resources.
