China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) recently announced its 2021 Top 10 Most Popular Medical Robot Award winners. 

Two companies from the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) were selected. A knee surgery robot independently developed by Hurwa won tenth place and Beijing WeMed Medical Equipment's ETcath Vascular Interventional Surgery Robot won the Most Potential Award.

The selection was initiated by CMEF to explore robot products in the medical equipment industry and showcase the work of scientific and technological innovation enterprises. Nearly 100 brands and products participated in the selection.

After more than 10 years of research and development iterations, the Hehua robot has become the first knee surgery robot approved by the State Drug Administration in China.

WeMed's ETcath vascular interventional surgery robot has a minimally invasive vascular interventional surgery system with completely independent intellectual property rights. It was developed by the enterprise's technical team and has completed its first percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) at Beijing Anzhen Hospital.

During operations, a doctor manipulates a handle at the operating end of the monitoring room, and the robot precisely performs the operation on a patient in the operating room.
