New impetus in Beijing E-Town's new energy industry

Updated: 2022-04-02

The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration recently issued plans to make arrangements for accelerating the construction of a modern energy system and promote high-quality energy development during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period (2021-25).

According to the plan, Beijing E-Town will focus on additions and subtractions: increase clean energy supply capacity and reduce carbon emissions in the energy industry chain.

In terms of the "addition" part, Beijing E-Town will promote the replacement of traditional energies with wind, light, water and other renewable energy sources, and continue to expand the supply of clean energy.

To this end, Beijing E-Town has set up green development funds to help existing new energy companies to grow.

Goldwind is one such company. The firm has led in domestic wind power manufacturing for many years, and improved wind energy utilization with a new generation of medium-speed permanent magnet products.

Meanwhile, another company, Center Int has accelerated the promotion of Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV), effectively using solar energy to replace other high-carbon emission energy sources;

Besides, Beijing E-Town also supports the hydrogen energy and introduced subsidiaries of leading companies in the industry, such as United Fuel Cell System R&D Co and Toyota SinoHytec Fuel Cell Co, to promote the upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain to integrate.

In the "subtraction" part, Beijing E-Town is promoting carbon emission reduction by building a new power system, reducing the carbon footprint of the energy industry, and strengthening energy conservation and carbon reduction.

Hep Energy and Environment Technology Co provides flexible solutions for new power systems through renewable energy consumption, and has successively invested in the construction of six thermal power flexible peak shaving projects in Northeast China, Inner Mongolia and other places.

Qunling Energy has developed and produced a mobile emergency power testing vehicle, which can complete the testing of 500kVA flywheel energy storage UPS power supply system and 300kVA zero-switching emergency UPS power supply vehicle.

Furthermore, Rotonix has launched a flywheel energy storage technology platform with completely independent intellectual property rights, OmniFly™, which has the characteristics of millisecond-level quick response, more than one million cycles, and green environmental protection.
