Green, low-carbon manufacturing in Beijing E-Town

Updated: 2022-06-28

The waste heat of boiler is reused, the wastewater is recycled...China's first carbon-neutral park was born in Beijing E-Town, and now the number of green factories here accounts for one-third of that in Beijing.

There are two 10t/h boilers in the West Boiler Room of YouCare Pharmaceutical Group. How can the waste heat of these boilers be utilized? After building an energy management online detection platform last year, installing four sets of automatic online monitoring equipment for boiler flue gas, and establishing a concentrated water recovery system in the water production room, YouCare is reusing waste heat.

"Through the transformation, we use the heat recovered from the steam boiler's flue gas in the heat exchange of the water," said a staff member of YouCare, "This saves 6,978 kw of heat every day."

Goldwind, another enterprise in Beijing E-Town, has built a small sewage treatment plant in the park and introduced a smart water system.

The system can treat 200 cubic meters of sewage every day. "The water treated by this system can be drank," added a staff member of the park's water affairs department.

In the past two years, the number of national-level green factories in Beijing E-Town has increased 18, the total number of which accounts for about 30 percent of that in Beijing.

As one of the green factories, Beijing Benz not only keeps energy saving and emission reduction, but also benchmarks against industry standards.

It has developed a green certification system that is stricter than the national green factory certification. Through the green supply chain management mechanism, Beijing Benz leads its suppliers to sign green manufacturing commitments.
