Cicadas and birds chirped from luxuriant trees in Binhe Park of Beijing E-Town this July. It's called summer! 

Mr. Wu took his two daughters to the greenway by the river for a ride. 

"I always come here whenever I have time, and ride along the Liangshui River. Scenery along the road is constantly changing, which is very beautiful. Although the weather has been a little hot recently, there are always shaded areas under trees beside the greenway," said Mr. Wu.

Mr. Wu's family has lived in Beijing E-Town for 12 years, and they have also witnessed the transformation of the river. 

"Unlike the clear water and beautiful scenery now, the river used to be a smelling ditch. Beijing E-Town's improved river management has added a lot to our happiness," added Mr. Wu.

In the past few years, Beijing E-Town has strengthened the comprehensive management of the Liangshui River. 

By banning sewage outfalls, reducing pollutant discharge into the river, and building a complete infrastructure for sewage treatment and reclaimed water, a high standard of sewage treatment has been achieved. 

The area also promotes microelectronics enterprises to replace tap water with high-quality reclaimed water, and encourages enterprises to build their own reclaimed water reuse facilities to achieve internal recycling of water resources.

In 2020, Liangshui River of North China, passed the inspection and officially became a member of the first group of demonstration rivers and lakes in the country.

During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period (2016-20), five ecological parks were built and put into use in the Beijing E-Town. 

Here, the coverage rate of the 500-meter service radius of park green space exceeded 96 percent, which was much higher than the city's average level. And the variety and number of wild birds have also increased significantly. 

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period (2021-25), Beijing E-Town will continue to build a city with clear waters and healthy air while promoting high-quality economic development, creating a city of happiness.
