Vehicle energy efficiency lab completed in Beijing E-Town

Updated: 2022-07-12

According to the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center, it will hold the unveiling ceremony of the vehicle energy efficiency development laboratory with Siemens Industry Software (Shanghai) on July 20.

The event means the first domestic new energy intelligent vehicle energy efficiency development laboratory is about to be completed.

Many OEMs, parts and components companies used to entrust the Siemens Energy Efficiency Laboratory in Lyon, France, to conduct vehicle energy efficiency tests.

To fill the gap in energy efficiency testing in the domestic auto  industry, the National Innovation Center cooperated with Siemens to build a vehicle energy efficiency laboratory by introducing innovation resources.

"This is the first and the world's leading vehicle energy efficiency development laboratory for new energy vehicles in China. Its performance indicators have reached the highest technical level in the world, and it can meet the needs of testing under the full temperature range of vehicles from -40°C to 60°C," said a staff member of the innovation center.

Meanwhile, the laboratory not only focuses on the whole vehicle energy efficiency development of new energy vehicles, but also can be used for hybrid vehicles and traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

Through the test, the impact and contribution of different systems and components of the vehicle on the vehicle performance can be obtained, which can facilitate enterprises to find design solutions to improve vehicle economy and provide decision-making basis.
