Updated: 2022-11-14

The first RCEP Customs Brokers Association International Forum kicked off on Nov 7.

The forum was co-hosted by the China Customs Brokers Association and other national industry associations in Beijing E-Town, and was supported by the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area Administrative Committee.

The RCEP, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, is an agreement formulated by 15 members, including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and ten ASEAN countries.

This January, the RCEP officially came into effect, marking the launch of the free trade zone with the largest population, largest economic and trade scale and the greatest potential for development in the world.

As a heavyweight supporting event of the 5th China International Import Expo, this forum combines online and offline conferences, focusing on the theme of "connectivity to promote trade facilitation in the RCEP region", and invited heads of domestic and foreign organizations, and well-known personnel in business and academic circles to attend the meeting, and offered suggestions to help in the high-quality implementation of the RCEP.

During the forum, the China Customs Brokers Association and the relevant business associations of RCEP member countries also released the "Shanghai Declaration", which aims to deepen the cooperation of NGOs, realize digital interconnection and interoperability, and contribute to the development of a high-standard RCEP free trade zone.

The launch of the "RCEP Member State Customs Broker Association Interconnection Platform and Partner Program" was also launched at the meeting.
