Kong Lei, deputy secretary of the working committee and director of the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA), met with Zhou Xiaolan, executive vice president and president of Commercial Operations China for Bayer Pharmaceuticals, and president of Bayer Group (Greater) China, on Dec 19.

Kong Lei expressed his thanks to the Bayer Group for its contribution in increasing production and providing sufficient medicine during the pandemic. 

According to Kong, Beijing is rich in medical resources and has a vast market, which provides opportunities for the high-quality development of biomedicine and big health industries. 

Driven by four leading industries represented by the biomedical industry, the BDA is at the best development stage, so enterprises have every reason to have faith in Beijing and the BDA, promote the research and development of innovative medicines and the transformation of research results, and expand cooperation in various fields. 

The BDA will also continue to optimize its business environment, expand opening up, deepen the construction of "Two Zones", formulate a series of policies conducive to the development of biomedical companies, and provide a sound business environment for enterprises in the area.

Zhou spoke highly of the BDA's achievements in coordinating economic and social development and epidemic prevention and control, thanked the BDA for its support for Bayer Group's development in the area, and said that it will further connect with the government and enterprises in the area to promote the transformation and implementation of more achievements in biomedicine and big health industries.

Liu Li, deputy director of the BDA Administrative Committee, also attended the meeting.
