'Dadu Dongnan' Art and Technology Exhibition opens

From ink sculptures to space-time scrolls, the "Dadu Dongnan" Art and Technology Exhibition unfolded a scroll of science and culture in Beijing E-Town on Jan 18. 

The opening ceremony kicked off with unique guest entrance. Gestures of every guest were digitally imprinted on the 17-meter display screen, which was then rendered into a full-bodied ink painting scroll.

Zhao Yajuan, minister of Publicity and Culture in Beijing E-Town, remarked that Beijing E-Town has always adhered to the simultaneous development of "industrial development and cultural prosperity", and created an innovative cultural brand "Dadu Dongnan" Science and Technology Art Festival. As part of the brand, the "Dadu Dongnan" art and technology exhibition is the largest cultural and art exhibition in the history of Beijing E-Town, with the most exhibited works and the most diverse exhibits.

Ma Qinghai, general manager of the SMC Investment Management Co, mentioned that the germination of culture has given vitality to Beijing E-Town, which empowers industrial upgrading and revitalizes the area. People who have witnessed and benefited from the zone should take the initiative to become contributors.

Fei Jun, professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, explained the relationship between technology and art as an artist representative. He said that the integration of art and technology should not be limited to the field of artistic creation. Art needs to be deeply integrated with emerging industries to provide a rich fertile ground for the development of digital creative industries.

Digital human E from the "Dadu Dongnan Metaverse" invited on-site artists, entrepreneurs and representatives from all walks of life to open the huge scroll of "Dadu Dongnan".

The picture scroll is based on the 30-year construction of Beijing E-Town and took eight months to complete. With the rocket launch, Paulownia Avenue, self-driving cars, Boda Building and other landmark buildings and dynamic scenes appearing in sequence, a complete night view of Beijing E-Town is projected on the screen.
