2023 UAV Industry Expo kicks off in Beijing E-Town

The International Conference on UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Applications and Anti-UAV & UAV Industry Expositions opened in Beijing E-Town recently.

The event included four academic exchange sessions, nine industrialization forums, and spreaded across 20,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The conference aimed to connect the UAV industry ecology, link the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, gather UAV industry giants, and comprehensively showcase the achievements of China's UAV industry innovation and development. 

It also focused on the development opportunities of the UAV industry under new policies, explored the technical frontiers and development trends in the field of UAVs, sought new industry trends, and promoted the high-quality development of the UAV manufacturing industry.

Lyu Yueguang, vice chairman of the Chinese Optical Engineering Society, stated that China's UAV industry application is booming, and UAVs will develop toward intelligent and multifunctional directions in the future. He hoped that through this event, the latest research progress of UAV platform and payload technology could be exchanged, the development trend of UAV application industry could be explored.

Chen Zhijie, chairman of the conference and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, remarked that the conference would strengthen the horizontal integration of the drone industry with aviation manufacturing capabilities, drone operation and civil aviation safety concepts and experiences, drone training and national higher education and vocational education systems, and the application of drones with the whole-space unmanned system. 

Subsequently, Andre, president of the Italian Aviation Enterprise Association, gave an opening speech through online video and wished the conference a complete success.

Zuo Rengui, deputy director of the Beijing E-Town Administrative Committee stated that Beijing E-Town attaches great importance to the development of the drone industry and will make use of support policies to boost technology achievement transformation, technological innovation, innovation gathering, and talent introduction. 

Beijing E-Town said it will also focus on optimizing the industrial ecology, building industrial parks, and providing targeted policy support, and make every effort to promote the high-quality development of the drone industry.

In addition, Professor Li Shipeng, an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, IEEE Fellow; Wang Shafei, executive director of the Chinese Optical Engineering Society; and Professor You Xiaohu of Southeast University delivered keynote speeches.

During the three-day conference, four special sessions were held concurrently on measurement and control, communication and navigation technology, mission payloads, and target recognition technology, intelligent unmanned control technology, defense and countermeasure technology. Nine exchange meetings were held to explore the technological iteration, innovative application, industrial landing, and future development of drones. 

The 2023 National Drone Innovation Skills Competition and the 2023 UAV Industry Expo were also held during the conference. 

With more than 300 exhibitors participating, the exhibition showcased a wide range of drones, from high-performance civil drones to unique surveying drones, to trend-setting express delivery drones, inspection drones, and UAV management and security systems.
