The TCM Ward is located on the 7th floor of the hospital. As the name suggests, this ward focuses on characteristic TCM treatments. By utilizing TCM classic theories and guidance from experienced TCM practitioners, it fully leverages the distinctive features and advantages of TCM.

The ward applies TCM-dominated methods and techniques to carry out the diagnosis and treatment of complex and difficult diseases. The medical team, with a total of 11 experienced professional staff, consists of physicians specializing in multiple disciplines such as digestion, kidney diseases, respiratory diseases, rheumatism, and cardiovascular diseases.

The TCM Ward initially opened with 30 beds. Since its trial operation from March 6 of this year, more than 80 patients have received TCM-led treatments.

The utilization rate of Chinese herbal medicine and the proportion of non-pharmaceutical TCM therapies for discharged patients have both reached 100 percent. The ward has effectively alleviated patients' pain using TCM methods, gaining their trust and praise.

According to Zhang Chang, director of the TCM Ward, "The TCM Ward adheres to the treatment principle of 'strengthening the immunity.' It excels in the treatment of digestive system diseases and kidney diseases. Meanwhile, it has significant effects and distinctive characteristics in treating internal medicine ailments such as rheumatism, insomnia, dizziness, and headaches.”

"In terms of treatment methods, besides herbal decoctions, non-pharmaceutical TCM therapies are widely applied here, such as moxibustion, cupping, acupuncture, herbal plaster massage, ear acupressure pills, acupoint pressing, needle-knife therapy, herbal bathing, and guiding exercises (Baduanjin, Five Animal Frolics). These methods have shown remarkable effectiveness in the treatment of certain diseases." Zhang added.

As one of the high-quality medical resources introduced to Beijing E-Town, the Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine currently has 35 specialized outpatient clinics and 19 specialty clinics, providing outpatient services from Monday to Sunday.
