Through data, the area is connecting the industrial chain, gathering industrial clusters, constructing data infrastructure, facilitating data circulation, promoting the high-level release of data element value, and providing comprehensive support for the construction of the leading area for data fundamentals in Beijing.

In the view of Liu Dong, director of the Beijing International Data Laboratory and the National Engineering Center for Next Generation Internet, breaking down "data silos" and enabling data flow are both crucial in the construction of the leading area.

Based on years of research in technologies such as IPv6 and data spaces, the National Engineering Center for Next Generation Internet has taken the first step, forming research advantages in key technologies for data circulation and gradually launching related public technology services to lay the foundation for the construction of the Beijing Data Leading Area.

"The Center has settled in Beijing E-Town for many years and has felt the strong atmosphere of thriving industries here. I believe it is the abundant industrial resources and a favorable industrial ecosystem that have made Beijing E-Town a pioneer demonstration zone," Liu added.

Seizing this opportunity, the center will take the Beijing International Data Laboratory as the starting point and fully leverage its intellectual advantages.

This intellectual advantage has two meanings: first, the establishment of an expert group, with the International Expert Committee led by Chinese Academy of Engineering Academician Wu Hequan and Rheinhold Achatz, chairman of the Board of the International Data Spaces Association, playing a significant role; second, utilizing existing technological foundations and regional industrial advantages to create cross-border data service platforms and data spaces for industries and industrial chains, serving sectors such as automobiles, advanced manufacturing, biomedicine, etc.

This will allow everyone to witness the power of data and derive more industrial ecosystems. Taking the automobile life cycle as an example, data has become a new driving factor. If data in various stages can be effectively shared, it will benefit car manufacturers, consumers, insurance companies, and others, achieving mutual success.
