Recently, the Beijing Enterprise Federation and the Beijing Entrepreneurs Association released the "1+7" lists, including the 2023 Beijing Top 100 Enterprises, 2023 Beijing Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises, and the 2023 Beijing Top 100 Specialized and Sophisticated Enterprises.

As the main hub for high-tech industries in Beijing, approximately 50 companies from Beijing E-Town made it onto the lists (excluding duplicates), a noticeable increase compared to the 30-plus companies listed last year. 

Among them, 28 companies from Beijing E-Town featured on the 2023 Beijing Top 100 Specialized and Sophisticated Enterprises list.

Seven companies make it to the main list, with JD Group ranking second

Seven companies from Beijing E-Town have been included on the main list of the 2023 Beijing Top 100 Enterprises, with JD Group ranking second.

According to a notice from the Beijing Enterprise Federation, this list follows the practice of the China Top 500 Enterprises and is based on the 2022 corporate operating income as the criterion for inclusion. 

Companies selected align with the "4+2+1" industrial system of Beijing E-Town. 

Companies like Pharmaron and the Shanghai Institute of Biological Products contribute to the development of the "intelligent manufacturing of new medicines" industry in the area through innovative services and new medicine research and development.

The Beijing JYT Corporation and Beijing Goldwind Science & Creation Windpower Equipment Co showcase the independent and controllable capabilities of "E-Town intelligent manufacturing."

Manufacturing companies and high-tech enterprises play the "strong notes" of development

Manufacturing is the cornerstone of economic development, and among enterprises on the "2023 Beijing Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises" list, companies from Beijing E-Town account for one-fifth of the total.

Meanwhile, on the "2023 Beijing Top 100 High-tech Enterprises" list, 13 companies from Beijing E-Town have been selected, demonstrating the global influence of industrial clusters such as "China Chip," "Intelligent Connected Vehicles," "Innovative Medicines," and "Intelligent Manufacturing." 

Behind this, the automotive and equipment industry has become a stabilizer for Beijing E-Town's industries, achieving an industrial output value of 289 billion yuan ($40.27 billion) last year, accounting for 54 percent of the total.

Looking from the industry to enterprises, specialized and sophisticated enterprises are a key force in enhancing economic resilience and modernizing the industrial and supply chains. 

In the "2023 Beijing Top 100 Specialized and Sophisticated Enterprises" list, 28 companies from Beijing E-Town have been listed.

In recent years, Beijing E-Town has continuously increased efforts to cultivate specialized and sophisticated enterprises, forming a development pattern of "single champion—invisible champion—small giant—specialized and sophisticated—innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)" and a development layout of unicorns, high-tech enterprises, and technology-based SMEs. 

The area has nurtured 664 municipal-level specialized and sophisticated SMEs, including 108 national-level specialized and sophisticated "small giant" firms.
