Updated: 2024-01-30

The area is home to a national river and lake demonstration section - the Liangshui River Beijing E-Town section – and boasts lotuses across the surface of Tongming Lake.

The bird species here make up more than 60 percent of Beijing's bird population, making it one of Beijing's top three recommended bird-watching locations. The Elk Garden is also located here. This is Beijing E-Town, a city within a garden.

From 3.83 square kilometers to 225 square kilometers, from the E-Town Industrial Zone of the past to the thriving industrial comprehensive new city, after more than thirty years of development, Beijing E-Town, while contributing to the capital's economy, has also brought benefits to local residents through ensuring a sound ecological environment.

Along the trails of E-Town New Area's Binhe Park, you can best feel the beauty of this garden city. The big "windmill" of Goldenwind Technology and the riverside "waterwheel" complement each other, outlining a low-carbon green picture.

The meandering Liangshui River is like an unfolding ecological scroll. As early as the 1980s, today's Nanhaizi Park was still a landfill. Since 2000, with efforts from all sides, Nanhaizi Park has gradually restored its ecological landscape.

In Beijing E-Town, besides the ubiquitous greenery, you can also hear birdsong everywhere you go. The continuously improving biodiversity system and the optimization of the biodiversity protection model have attracted rare bird species to the area and settle down to reproduce.

With the rapid development of E-Town New Area, based on the formulation and release of various policy measures, such as pollution reduction, energy saving and carbon reduction, the classification catalog of general industrial solid waste, incentives for promoting green, low-carbon, and high-quality development, Beijing E-Town has spared no efforts in promoting pilot projects such as "carbon neutrality".

At present, the total number of national-level green factories in the area has reached 36, and the construction of a waste-free city has resulted in the "E-Town experience."

Beijing E-Town has successfully made it to the first batch of cities and industrial parks for coordinated innovation in pollution reduction and carbon reduction.
