Intelligent driving company to build R&D center, production lines

Updated: 2024-03-13

"We've just secured an international order worth tens of millions of yuan recently, which is a great 'kick-off' project for us," said Dr. Ju Xueming, CEO of Beijing LiangDao Intelligent Automotive Technology Co (LiangDao Intelligence).

As a supplier of lidar systems, LiangDao Intelligence is making progress.

From pure solid-state lidar hardware to perception algorithms, and to full-stack services for tool chains, the company will also promote intelligent driving firm to go global this year.

"The new project is a mass production project for an L3 vehicle model, helping customers achieve fully automated true-value production. This is LiangDao's first project order signed with a leading global OEM in 2024," Ju said.

Since its establishment in the Beijing E-Town in 2017, LiangDao Intelligence has launched China's first vehicle-grade pure solid-state lateral lidar, filling the market gap for lateral lidar in the industry.

It has developed full-stack self-research capabilities of "lidar hardware + software + services" and has the ability to deliver system mass production from hardware to software, development to testing.

In recent years, as AI technology has continued to advance, LiangDao Intelligence's perception algorithms have also iterated continuously.

In addition, in terms of business models, LiangDao Intelligence relies on a Sino-German team rooted in Germany for many years to provide localized solutions for enterprises based on the differences between domestic and foreign markets, preemptively avoiding potential risks.

"This year, we will also launch a new generation of lidar products with better performance and lower costs through the deployment of integrated chips and localized supply chain. We plan to invest over 500 million yuan ($69.51 million) to build a lidar research and development center and a production line in Beijing E-Town.

In the future, we will strive to reduce the price of pure solid-state lidar to less than 1,000 yuan and accelerate mass production," Ju said.

Additionally, LiangDao Intelligence will work with more domestic intelligent driving companies and automakers to expand overseas markets collectively and introduce European resources to China.
