Enterprises in Beijing E-Town introduce hydrogen-powered buses

Updated: 2024-03-25

Thirty hydrogen-powered buses equipped with the new research hydrogen fuel cell systems developed by enterprises in Beijing E-Town were recently delivered in Beijing.

"This is another collaboration between us, Gantang Travel, and Suzhou King Long (Higer), demonstrating the high-quality capabilities of the three parties in product development, manufacturing, and operation," said a spokesperson from New Research Hydrogen Energy Technology Co (Innoreagen).

Last July, the first hydrogen demonstration project in Beijing E-Town, led by Higer, operated by Gantang Travel, and with the fuel cell system provided by Innoreagen, held its launch ceremony.

The initial batch of hydrogen-powered buses was used for commuting in E-Town and other areas for both employees and residents.

The buses equipped with the new research hydrogen fuel cell systems have already safely operated 500,000 kilometers in Beijing. With excellent power performance and low energy consumption, they contribute significantly to achieving the city's goals of green transportation and environmental protection.

The 12-meter hydrogen fuel cell buses delivered this time have undergone another performance upgrade, equipped with the new research hydrogen 123kW fuel cell system.

This system not only meets leading domestic standards in terms of rated power density and stack volume power density but also achieves a high balance between miniaturization, high output power, rapid response, stable power generation, low-temperature start-up, and durability.

As one of the members of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei fuel cell demonstration city cluster, Beijing E-Town mainly undertakes tasks such as technological innovation and industrial chain construction, vehicle promotion and demonstration application, and policy and institutional environmental construction.

The spokesperson from Innoreagen stated the company will promote the construction of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei fuel cell vehicle demonstration city cluster and make greater contributions to the demonstration and application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
