WeRide minibus provides shuttle services at French Open 2025.

WeRide, an autonomous driving startup located in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town), has recently once again partnered with Renault Group to provide the L4 level autonomous minibus shuttle service on-site for the French Open 2025.

Han Xu, founder and CEO of WeRide, said, "This is the second consecutive year that WeRide minibuses have served this event, which not only further enhances the confidence of the outside world in our technology, but also proves its maturity in real-world applications."

This year, the service route of WeRide minibus was 2.8 kilometers long, connecting key nodes such as Avenue de la Porte d'Auteuil, Place de la Porte d'Auteuil, P1 Parking Carrefour des Anciens Combattants, and Village de Roland Garros.

The route operated from May 25 to June 8, and the operating hours were significantly extended compared to last year. In addition to the regular daytime services from 10:30 to 17:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00, a new nighttime service period was added this year, from 22:00 to midnight, providing more convenience and longer connecting time for event spectators.

As the world's first pre installed mass-produced autonomous driving minibus, the WeRide minibus is equipped with the company's self-developed autonomous driving software and hardware system, which can provide safe and reliable autonomous driving shuttle services in various scenarios such as urban public roads, airports, resorts, and popular scenic spots. At the same time, as an important component of Europe's green and low-carbon public transportation transformation strategy, WeRide and Renault Group have conducted tests and operations of autonomous minibuses in Paris, the southern French city of Valence, Barcelona, Spain, and other places, continuously expanding the service and impact of autonomous driving technology in Europe.

According to Han, "Europe is a key market in our global strategic map." The shuttle service for the French Open has also become a microcosm of the company's accelerated expansion into the European market.

At present, WeRide minibuses have achieved large-scale commercial deployment and are being tested and operated in 30 cities in China, Singapore, Switzerland, France, Japan, and other countries. In the Beijing E-Town, WeRide is promoting the establishment of a global research and development center. It will also move its autonomous minibus and autonomous sanitation vehicle businesses to operate independently here, and further build and expand core research and development, commercial and other teams to promote the globalization and commercialization process of China's autonomous driving industry.
